Resultatet ble en moderne båt, som må seiles som en jolle. Vinduene er anderledes, og det er skrudd en teaklist hele veien rundt esingen. Løygangen er også anderledes. Rune Skjoldal sier at det var noen som tyvlånte formene og bygget et par båter. Tiden går videre, det hadde selvsagt vært morsomt å hatt en båt som han hadde skapt selv, men tiden går med til firmaet amundsenomega3.com, og det blir lite tid igjen til restaureringsprosjektet. Da blir det to båter i Venezia. Klimaet der nede passer perfekt for campingliv med båt. Den har 400l vannballast, er helt flat under, så den passer alle hengere, er bygd i epoxy-playwood og veien 450kg. Den seiler meget bra og er lett og reve. Ta ned storseilet og den seiler som et skudd i kuling med fokk og mesan. Mesan gir større muligheter til å legge bi med en liten båt. Du bare slipper storen, strammer mesan og bakker fokk, så ligger båten nesten i ro.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Masten er i carbon, det er ingen spredere. Det er kun formaliteter igjen ved salget. Det blir litt vemodig å kvitte seg med en båt som har gitt oss så mye glede og ikke minst kunnskap. Økonomisk ble det et tapsprosjekt. Båten ble solgt for en sum som var rimeligere enn de nye seilene fra Doyle. I tillegg er båten vesentlig oppgradert med mye nytt utstyr. Uansett synes jeg det er bedre at båten blir brukt i sitt rette element enn at den blir stående bak en låve og forfalle. Jeg er helt sikker på at kjøperen vil ta godt vare på denne båten videre og at den havner i de beste hender med mye seilglede de kommende år.&lt;br /&gt;Hva som vil skje med denne bloggen er noe usikkert. Har nå fått tilslaget på en Hero 114 som for tiden befinner seg i Portugal. Denne båten er på langt nær en livlig racer slik som A55en er. Derimot er den et resultat av et 80-tallsprosjekt som gikk ut på å bygge den ideelle langturseiler. Hadde i utgangspunktet tenkt å beholde båten men synes det er bedre at den blir brukt fremfor å bli liggende bak en garasje og råtne. Vi har hatt utrolig stor glede av denne livlige microcupperen som har vært vårt springbrett til seiling. Båten har nytt storseil, rullefokk og gennaker fra Doyle Lyngør - visstnok de beste seilene som noensinne har vært på en A55. Potensiell soveplass til fire, liten bysse og 4 hk Yamaha utenbordsmotor. Garmin kartplotter m/ekkolodd kan evt følge med. Fikk endelig testet hvordan den fungerte på mitt lille spritbluss i båten. Det er ikke mye som slår nystekte rundstykker til frokost i en liten båt. Har også stekt brownies i ovnen - det fungerte helt glimrende! Ferden gikk tur retur Risør for å kjøpe is. Skulle montere ny Windex i toppen av masta, men gjengene i mastetoppen var tæret bort av den gamle Windexen. Får heller improvisere med litt epoxy etter hvert. Synes det er en fordel å vite hvor vinden blåser fra - særlig inne i turbulente fjordarmer. Vi skrapte bort alt det gamle i løpet av et par timer, finpusset og la på nytt. Skroget fikk en runde med Autosol og polermaskin. Det hele avluttet med hardvoks. Kurset ble holdt i regi av Oslo Kystskipperskole og Nils Nordenstrøm. Lørdag bestod av intensiv gjennomgang av pensum, avsluttet med skriftlig eksamen. Søndag var forbeholdt praktiske øvelser med overlevingsdrakter og redningsflåte. VHF sertifikatet er også i boks. Hele skroget fikk en grundig vask og skrubb i løpet av helgen og båten ble tømt for puter og alt mulig løst utstyr. Masten heiste vi opp i taket i min fars garasje slik at den er godt ute av veien. Han er bare 16år og kom til Nordheimsund med familiens seilbåt for 3år siden. A55en kom fra Hønefoss i fjor. Han drømmer om jordomseiling med en IF og har ikke seilt A55en så mye. Den var i orginalstand. Fokkeskjøte på hyttetak. 3 Andersen vinsjer. Rullefokka er litt for stor og det er satt ekstra genoaskjøter på dekk. Gelcoat er i bra stand. Det er ikke forsterkningskanal langsmed på innersiden. Vantfestene på innsiden er mer solid enn vanlig, mulig det er lagt inn noen flere skott.  Antagelig er denne båten laget i Holmestrand. Produksjonsåret er 1980. Thyco er  tredje eier. Forrige hadde båten bare et år. Thyge Myhre hadde båten siden den var ny. Dette er en fantastisk liten øygruppe som danner en godt beskyttet lagune. Svabergene er glattskurte og der er en bitte liten strand som er perfekt for smårollinger. Dybden i lagunen er ca 2-2,5 meter og egner seg mest for småbåter. Vi fant kun ett sted hvor dybdeforholdene tillater landfortøyning av en kjølbåt - det er stort sett tørrfall rundt hele lagunen. Farvannet utenfor er temmelig ureint og lite skjermet for vær og vind, derfor er det stort sett lokale hyttefolk i småbåter på dagstur som befolker øyene. Det var meldt frisk bris men i praksis var vi nok nærmere liten kuling. Planen var å seile vestover mot Tvedestrand, men vi fant raskt ut at vinden ble litt for heftig og bølgene ubehagelig krappe for en så liten båt. Derfor dreide vi tilbake mot Risør. Fikk en vanvittig seilas på lens hvor vi surfet på nær sagt hver eneste bølgetopp. Surfene varte opp mot 20 sekunder og farten lå stort sett over 8,5 knop. I bølgedalene var vi stadig over 11 knop og kartplotteren viste til slutt 12 knop som ny maxhastighet. Hadde en lett bris fra sørøst og fikk en fin koseseilas til Seilmakerfruens Kro hvor vi spiste noen fantastiske blåskjell. Dette er sjeldent så tidlig i sesongen. Fikk endelig luftet gennakeren også - artig å se hvordan den tar seg ut i masta. Dessverre viste det seg at vinkelen mellom forstag og fokkefall ble for liten – noe som førte til at fallet surret seg rundt forstaget. Leide en lift for et par timer ved Risør Båtsenter slik at jeg fikk borret ut popnaglene og fikk flyttet fallavlederen noen cm lenger ned. Nå er vinkelen mellom forstag og fall et sted mellom 15 og 20 grader, noe som fungerer fint. Seilene står til all forventning - i opp til ca 5,2 knop er krengningen minimal til tross for større areal. Roret virker også stabilt og godt . Det blir artig å se hva som skjer i litt sterkere vind. Et par skår i gleden var likevel ikke til å unngå: Fallavlederen til rullefokka ble montert for høyt oppe i masta slik at vinkelen til forstaget er for liten. Må derfor opp i masta og montere én til. Må også få montert en ekstra sleide over cunningham-malja fordi seilet spriker litt nederst mot bommen.  Fokka er mye større enn jeg hadde trodd på forhånd. Sprydet er en North Sails 430/21CC Xcellerator 80 karbonmast. Jobber med å få laget en syrefast gummiforet ring for baugmontasje. Det bakre festet har jeg ingen god løsning på enda, men vurderer å bruke en pad-eye for montasje i dekk og en slags krok montert på baugsprydets bakre ende. Brukte de gamle som mal men la på et par ekstra millimeter rundt for å ha litt mer å gå på i forhold til skruehullene. &lt;br /&gt;Fant fort ut at det er viktig med godt verktøy når man skal sage i lexan. Billig-stikksager og håndsirkelsag med blad beregnet for tre var bare å glemme. Fikk tak i en Metabo stikksag og forstod raskt at det er forskjell på Lada og Rolls Royce.&lt;br /&gt;Senere måtte jeg gå en ekstra runde med monteringen pga et såkalt vidundermiddel som skulle gjøre det lett å stryke ut silikon. Det endte med at middelet spiste opp silikonet og det som skulle vært tett ble lekk som et dørslag. Demonterte også vinduene - disse var utette og plexiglasset var krakelert og generelt slitte av tidens tann. Kommer derfor til å skifte disse med nye i akryl eller solide lexan polycarbonatplater. &lt;br /&gt;Natt til skjærtorsdag falt hele 60-70 cm snø og forvandlet vårstemningen til et komplett vinterkaos og dagen gikk med til snømåking istedenfor båtpuss. Værmeldingene så ikke gode ut på forhånd, så roret var allerede skrudd av og jeg fikk satt igang arbeidet med å forlenge roret med sine 20 manglende centimetre. Håndtverket ser veldig bra ut så dette blir noe helt annet enn den gamle utblåste originalduken. Gleder meg også til å teste ut gennakeren som foreløpig brukes uten baugspryd – blir det vanskelig å jibbe pga liten avstand til forstaget får jeg heller finne en løsning på den saken. Dette blir stas! Denne gangen var det en heftig polermaskin som tiltrakk oppmerksomheten, for seilbåter i min kategori var det heller få av. God redskap er halve jobben sies det og forhandleren skrøt av at til og med eggeskall kan poleres blankt med denne maskinen. Han bodde i båten og seilte den tur-retur Nordkapp. Båten (Serena) befinner seg nå i Italia og Stefano snakker om å stille den ut på Venice Boat Show i 2008 for å presentere sine opplevelser i Norge.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Her er en liten historie om den gangen han seilte utenfor Stadt. Klokka var ca. elleve og han gikk over bord to ganger i 6 meter høye bølger. Båten kullseilte ikke, men han var kanskje veldig heldig, som han selv sier:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic;"&gt;"Well the story overboard was a bit scary, after I was smashed offboard at 23 at night, 30 miles offshore, I managed to climb onboard from the stern and at 02,30 the boat went across the waves and the boat was 90 degrees on the wather, so I fell in the wather again. Then was easy to climb  back onboard because the boat was stopped. I saw the boat 90 degrees and then back straight. then I was wet at the helm until 13 o'clock the day after. After I got dry cloth kept on sailing untill 20 when I entered in Fedje in very rough condition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first time a bracking wave hitted the bottom of the boat meanwhile I was surfing and I have been ejected from the cockpit. Ikke enkelt å velge, men jeg landet på "hightech" fargen Cool Grey 11 som grunnfarge og Red V15 i stjerna. Den blir på hele 18,5 kvm - regner med at det skal få fart i skuta. Storseilet blir også oppgradert fra originale 9,5 kvm til 11,5 kvm og størrelsen på fokka økes til 6,5 istedenfor 6 kvm. Seilene blir laget i materialet Sandwich Radial ACL Contender. Denne duken er 30% sterkere enn Dacron i samme vekt og har bedre formstabilitet. Innen neste sesong vurderer jeg å lakkere dekket og evt ta skroget én gang til. Har også innhentet et par tilbud på nye seil - de originale Brodersen seilene har nok sett sine bedre dager. De signaliserte at de trengte hjelp hvorpå vi seilte over og kastet ut ei slepeline. Jolla ble straks til et formidabelt drivanker som effektivt satt en stopper for all fremdrift. Måtte starte motor for å få nok kraft. Seilte 29,3 sjømil på under 5 timer. Vi satte ny fartsrekord; 9,3 knop i nordavind utenfor Jomfruland - med to rev i storseilet og spridd fokk. Vinden varierte mellom kuling og stiv kuling i kastene. Borret et passe stort hull i flytekammeret foran mastestøtten og støpte et rør i glassfiber/epoxy som passet nedi - slik at flytekammeret fortsatt er intakt. Limte dette med Sterkeste Epoxy og fyllstoffblanding. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mastestøtten hadde gnagd seg nedover i laminatet og knust deler av kryssfinerplatene i flytekammeret. Fant en solid eikekubbe som nå er limt og støpt fast. Var ikke spesielt heldig utstyret denne dagen: De gamle sprøytene som var brukt til billakkering hadde tette dyser. Fikk tak i ei ny sprøyte fra Felleskjøpet som fikk gjøre nytten, men det viste seg umulig å få denne til å fungere godt. Brukte tre dager på overfarten med stopp ved Svenner fyr og Lervik sør for Moss. Seilte utenfor Ferder og hadde fin vind til vi nådde frem til Søstrene utenfor Fredrikstad. Da mistet vi all vind og gikk for motor til Lervik. Borret tett i tett med hull gjennom den ene siden og kjernematerialet slik at gammelt vann fikk renne ut. Da innmaten var tørr sprøytet jeg inn West System Epoxy blandet med det kraftigste fyllstoffet (404) for best mulig styrke. Var ikke tegn til plastpest i utgangspunktet, men når bunnstoffet først var av tenkte jeg det var like greit å sikre seg - det er jo tross alt en gammel båt. La på nytt bunnstoff: Selvpolerende fra Jotun - ikke det raskeste, men veldig greit mht vedlikehold.
